On the outskirts of Aarhus, specifically in Risskov, you will find Mollerup Golf Club.
At Mollerup Golf Club, there is a vision to be “a club that leads the way.” This vision is reflected in the club's high expectations of itself.
Mollerup Golf Club expresses a pronounced eagerness to set high standards for itself and further influence the local community positively.
To maintain these expectations, the club has established three core values to pave the way for the club's well-being: Respect, Community, and Responsibility. These three fundamental values are considered the guiding framework for how the club operates internally and as the motivation for the club's desire to pass something on to the next generation.
In light of these distinctly philanthropic ideas, Mollerup Golf Club has installed solar panels on the roof and further entered into a partnership with VisBlue for the installation of a flow battery with a capacity of 5 kW 40 kWh.
By combining solar panels and the flow battery, the utilization rate of the club's self-produced green and free electricity is expected to increase by up to 75%. This is a result of the battery storing the excess solar energy from the panels for later use, so Mollerup Golf Club does not need to purchase electricity from the grid at night or when the sun is not shining. The battery will supply stored energy, minimizing the club's purchase of electricity from the grid by at least 50%.
VisBlue and Mollerup Golf Club hope that their collaboration can serve as an example for other golf clubs and industries aiming for energy efficiency and a green climate footprint.
